ABSTRACT Courses and research in construction engineering and management include studies in construction techniques; site productivity, contracts and specifications; planning, scheduling and control of construction activities; quantity takeoff and estimating; economic decision analysis; construction equipment; systems analysis; construction administration; and computerized applications in scheduling; estimating, resource planning, and cost control. Faculty research interests and/or courses cover such topics as optimization techniques; construction productivity; construction safety; repetitive scheduling techniques and associated software; expert / knowledge-based systems in forensic scheduling; and software for scheduling, estimating and cost control. Supplementary courses in structural and geotechnical engineering are available in the department of civil engineering, and courses can be taken from other departments in engineering, business, law, economics, operations research, and computer methods. |
